The Bishop Gorman Gaels will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against the Westlake Warriors at 1:30 p.m. on December 28th. Hopefully Bishop Gorman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, Bishop Gorman earned a 53-45 victory over Skyline. Given Bishop Gorman's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked second in Nevada, while Skyline is ranked 123rd in Texas), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bishop Gorman got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aaliah Spaight out in front who scored nine points along with ten rebounds and eight assists. Spaight set a new season high mark in blocks with two. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzee Holton, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Westlake ended up a good deal behind Bonita Vista on Wednesday and lost 66-48.
Bishop Gorman's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Westlake, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-4.
