The Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Osmond/Randolph Hawks at 7:45 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Osmond/Randolph in Nebraska (Laurel-Concord-Coleridge is ranked 88th, while Osmond/Randolph is ranked 205th).
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge struggled with threes on Saturday (Wayne had five more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Laurel-Concord-Coleridge lost to Wayne on the road by a decisive 53-38 margin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge in their matchups with Wayne: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the defeat, Laurel-Concord-Coleridge got a solid performance out of Kolby Hansen, who scored 13 points along with nine rebounds. Bradyn Urwiler was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Osmond/Randolph's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They fell to Winside 47-41.
Laurel-Concord-Coleridge has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season. As for Osmond/Randolph, their defeat was their 13th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-10.
Everything came up roses for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge against Osmond/Randolph in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 54-25 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Laurel-Concord-Coleridge since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
