It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Patuxent Panthers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 35-0 victory over Douglass. Considering Patuxent has won six games by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Leading Patuxent to victory were Evan Blouir and Evan Jones. Blouir threw for 253 yards and four touchdowns on only 16 passes, while Jones picked up 207 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Jones' longest reception was for an incredible 88 yards.
The victory makes it two in a row for Patuxent and bumps their season record up to 10-1. As for Douglass, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 9-2.
Patuxent will take on Calvert at TBD on Friday. Calvert will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. Douglass does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
