Last Friday, Covert suffered a rough 87-67 defeat at the hands of Eau Claire.
Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, New Buffalo beat Countryside Academy 55-49 on Wednesday. The win was just what New Buffalo needed coming off of a 67-45 defeat in their prior game.
New Buffalo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lucas Forker led the charge by scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Elliott Bourne, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Covert's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for New Buffalo, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season.
