Baseball Recap: Garden Spot Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Garden Spot extended their winning streak to three on Monday, bumping their season record up to 9-9 in the process. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Eastern Lebanon County Raiders. The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Madix Bracken made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Garden Spot is 2-1 when Bracken allows three or fewer hits, but 7-8 otherwise. Bracken was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Ryder Hertzler was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Garden Spot: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-8 otherwise. Brody Torrance was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Garden Spot was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eastern Lebanon County only posted a batting average of .160.

As for Eastern Lebanon County, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss they have suffered since April 17, 2024.

On Eastern Lebanon County's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach Martin, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Another was Braden Gettle, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
