The Yoncalla Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They strolled past McKenzie with points to spare, taking the game 53-36. The victory was some much needed relief for Yoncalla as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Griffin Withalm and Will Meister certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Withalm scored 12 points along with six steals, while Meister scored 11 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for him.
Yoncalla's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for McKenzie, they bumped their record down to 1-6 with that loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yoncalla won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oregon (Monroe is ranked 242nd, while Yoncalla is ranked 240th). McKenzie is on the road again on Thursday and play against Prospect at 7:00 p.m. on December 21st.
