Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Doral Academy Firebirds, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 21-7 to Palmetto. While losing is never fun, Doral Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Palmetto is ranked 47th).
Jordan Lleo threw for 227 yards and a touchdown. Marcus Antelo was his top target, picking up 81 receiving yards. On the ground, Joel Miller rushed for 30 yards.
This is the second loss in a row for Doral Academy and nudges their season record down to 5-5. As for Palmetto, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.
Doral Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Palmetto will be playing in front of their home fans against Western at 7:30 p.m. on November 17th. Western is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road.
