While it was all tied up 14-14 at halftime, The Roosevelt Roughriders were not quite the Thompson Valley Eagles''s equal in the second half on Thursday. Roosevelt ended up on the wrong side of a rough 41-21 walloping at the hands of Thompson Valley. It was the first time this season that Roosevelt let down their fans at home.
Defeat or not, Roosevelt got some senior leadership from Xavier Ramirez who rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns and Bronco Hartson who rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
Riley Suarez was his usual excellent self, rushing for 146 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 180 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Suarez is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Christian Chase, who gained 88 total yards and two touchdowns.
Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Thompson Valley, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will square off against Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. As for Thompson Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Resurrection Christian at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Resurrection Christian is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
