The Bethel Wildcats lost to the New Milford Green Wave back in February, but the Bethel Wildcats didn't allow the New Milford Green Wave the same satisfaction on Friday. Bethel came out on top against New Milford by a score of 50-40.
Several Green Wave players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kelvin Mendoza, who scored seven points along with six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Esposito, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Bethel's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2. As for New Milford, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
Bethel will head out on the road to face off against Newtown at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for New Milford, they will play host again and welcome Joel Barlow, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
