Baseball Recap: Wickliffe's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Wickliffe lost to Beachwood on Saturday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Bison with a sharp 14-4 victory. Considering the Blue Devils have won 11 games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Kaden Urban was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Alex Aheimer was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

Wickliffe kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

With the win, Wickliffe broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 14-8. As for Beachwood, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-15.

Looking ahead, Wickliffe will welcome Pymatuning Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Blue Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Lakers have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. Beachwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
