Two dominant guards in Terance Pittman and Camden Dalinghaus are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Parkview Christian Patriots are on the road again on Thursday and play against the Johnson-Brock Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on December 28th. One thing working in Parkview Christian's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
Even though South Sioux City scored an imposing 56 points on Thursday, Parkview Christian still came out on top. Parkview Christian enjoyed a cozy 70-56 win over South Sioux City. Given Parkview Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while South Sioux City is ranked 260th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Parkview Christian relied on the efforts of Tairren Scott, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and eight assists, and Pittman, who scored 33 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The game was Pittman's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Bayliss, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Johnson-Brock put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Sterling 71-24 at home. With Johnson-Brock ahead 41-20 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Johnson-Brock relied on the efforts of Casen Dalinghaus, who scored 19 points along with four steals, and Brody Koehler, who scored 21 points along with three steals. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. Dalinghaus was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six assists and three steals.
Parkview Christian's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Johnson-Brock, their victory was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the pair are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Parkview Christian hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 71.6 points per game. It's a different story for Johnson-Brock, though, as they've been averaging only 62.7 points per game. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Parkview Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Johnson-Brock in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 56-49. Will Parkview Christian repeat their success, or does Johnson-Brock have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
