Moore Catholic is 3-0 against Kennedy Catholic since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Moore Catholic Mavericks will head out on the road to face off against the Kennedy Catholic Gaels at 6:00 p.m. Moore Catholic has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 251 points over their last four games.
Last Saturday, Moore Catholic earned a 58-45 win over Holy Cross.
Moore Catholic can attribute much of their success to Emma Costanzo, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds, and Veronica Barbato, who scored 17 points. It was the first time this season that Barbato scored 15 or more points. Mackenzie Felci was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Kennedy Catholic was the victim of a rough 67-47 loss at the hands of St. Joseph Hill Academy back in January. While losing is never fun, Kennedy Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while St. Joseph Hill Academy is ranked 23rd).
Moore Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Kennedy Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.
Everything went Moore Catholic's way against Kennedy Catholic when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as Moore Catholic made off with a 63-37 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Moore Catholic since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
