The Bishop Union Broncos took a 21-point defeat the last time they faced off against the Mammoth Huskies, but they managed to turn things around on Friday. Bishop Union had just enough and edged Mammoth out 51-48. Winning may never get old, but Bishop Union sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Mammoth's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Jones, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. Jones is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Kaiam Trabulsi was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Bishop Union's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Mammoth, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Union will face off against Rosamond at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rosamond has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 682 points over their last nine games. As for Mammoth, they will head out on the road to take on East Bakersfield at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
