Baseball Recap: Wasatch Wins Going Away Against Richfield

While Wasatch didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Richfield Wildcats with a sharp 15-5 victory on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Wasps, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Wasatch let Austin Brown and Blake Sweat run wild. Brown went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Sweat went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one triple. Sweat has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Grant Mahoney also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Wasatch was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .414 or higher in four consecutive games.

Wasatch's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Richfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Wasatch has already played their next contest (against Desert Hills), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Richfield, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Richfield Wildcats face off against West Jordan Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
