The Jefferson Blue Jays won the last time they faced the DeSoto Dragons, and things went their way on Saturday too. Jefferson secured a 40-36 W over DeSoto. The win made it back-to-back wins for Jefferson.
Jefferson found their leader in underclassman Halayna Loyd, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Loyd has scored at least 25% of Jefferson's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Guffey, who scored 3 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals.
Jefferson now has a winning record of 2-1. As for DeSoto, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Jefferson will look to defend their home court on Monday against DeSoto at 7:00 p.m. As for DeSoto, they will head out on the road to face off against Jefferson at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Jefferson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday.
