Bulloch Academy had to kick off their season on the road on Saturday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Portal Panthers 49-20. Winning may never get old, but the Gators sure are getting used to it with their 13th in a row dating back to last season.
Bulloch Academy was led to victory by Sam Hubbard and Danye Garvin. Hubbard rushed for 94 yards, while Garvin rushed for 113 yards.
Despite the loss, Portal had strong showings from Zeke Percell, who rushed for 86 yards and a pair of TDs on only five carries, and Jason Crawford, who rushed for 86 yards and one score. Crawford's longest rush was for an incredible 86 yards.
Bulloch Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 34-0 victory against Claxton on the 26th. As for Portal, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Twiggs County at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th.
