Suwannee has been on the road for three straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Godby Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Last Tuesday, Suwannee was beaten by Columbia 75-48. Suwannee has struggled against Columbia recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Godby had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They blew past Leon 85-47 at home. Fans of Godby have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Godby's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Damien Shepherd, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Mekhi Butler, who scored 12 points.
Suwannee now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Godby, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-0.
Suwannee barely slipped by Godby in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 54-53. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Godby's Esrael Yant, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds.
