Softball Recap: Seminole's Winning Streak Snapped at 11 Games

It was a good run, but Seminole unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 12-5 to the Andrews Mustangs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Indians have suffered since March 11, 2024.

J'Cee Washington was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Averi Gray, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Washington wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Seminole kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in six consecutive matches.

Seminole's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 17-5. As for Andrews, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Seminole will face off against rival Monahans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Andrews is set to challenge their familiar foe Fort Stockton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
