Mica Mountain has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Canyon del Oro Dorados at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mica Mountain will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Mica Mountain had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against Northwest Christian on Friday as Mica Mountain made off with a 38-17 win. Considering Mica Mountain has won six contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mica Mountain to victory, but perhaps none more so than Conner Hangarner, who rushed for 169 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries. Hangarner hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Garcia, who picked up 130 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Canyon del Oro put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They secured a 33-27 W over Arizona College Prep.
Kayden Luke continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 235 yards and two touchdowns.
Mica Mountain's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.7 points per game. As for Canyon del Oro, their win bumped their record up to 12-0.
