They walked away with a 65-53 win over Impact Christian Academy. Given Providence School's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Impact Christian Academy is ranked 152nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Providence School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caleb Mcabee, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Brady Patterson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Impact Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Wilmer De jesus, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Ronald Clark, who scored 12 points.
Providence School is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Impact Christian Academy, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-9.
Providence School will head out on the road to take on Ponte Vedra at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ponte Vedra knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Providence School likes a good challenge. As for Impact Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Melbourne at 3:30 p.m. on January 27th.
