Petal extended the longest winning streak in 6A Region 3 this week by beating Forest Hill, 37-14. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Panthers.
Davien Tillis was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 25 carries, he ran for 165 yards as Brandon topped Oak Grove. Teammate Devin Wilson added to the ground attack by rushing for 112 yards.
Bridges was the best wideout in the league this week as the Tigers beat the Warriors. Bridges tallied three receptions for 78 yards. Brandon Acker helped Hattiesburg's passing attack out by catching two balls for 56 yards.
Larson Barkurn put up the best numbers through the air as Petal bested the Patriots. He finished with a total of seven completions for 98 yards and two touchdowns. Barkurn's favorite target this week was Jamarcus Revies, who caught five passes for 53 yards.
Johna Myers made the biggest impact on defense this week as Marcus Boyles' team defeated Forest Hill. The 5-foot-10 defensive back pulled down one interception.
On the ground, Terry's Jarius Moore has rushed for 1139 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Revies. The Petal star has 47 catches for 697 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Hattiesburg and the Bulldogs. Danny Nowell's team comes into the matchup ranked 12th in the state, while Brandon ranks 10th.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Brad Peterson's team takes on the Tigers. The Bulldogs' offense has racked up 374 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while Hattiesburg has allowed only 166 on the year.
Brandon's Gardner Minshew is within 179 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against the Tigers. Accruing a total of 18 touchdowns this year, Minshew has thrown for 1821 yards with 10 interceptions.
Meridian led the league in scoring this week after putting up 41 points on the Bulldogs.
