Vintage put their dominant pitcher on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. Everything went their way against the Sonoma Valley Dragons as Vintage made off with a 10-0 win. With that victory, the Crushers brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
Angie Rubalcava made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Carlee Carter was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Sydney Morton also deserves some recognition as she hit her first doubles of the season.
Vintage always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sonoma Valley only posted an OBP of .118.
