The Lanier County Bulldogs lost against the Worth County Rams back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The New Year welcomed Lanier County with a 62-24 whooping from Worth County. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lanier County in their matchups with Worth County: they've now lost three in a row.
Worth County found their leader in underclassman Jariah Williams, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and four steals. The game was Williams' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Za?Liah Howard, who scored 14 points along with three steals.
Lanier County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Worth County, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lanier County will take on Atkinson County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Worth County and Jeff Davis will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Jeff Davis is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
