After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Red Mountain, Mesa was happy to have turned things around  on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Dobson Mustangs with a sharp  14-7 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Jackrabbits needed considering they were shut out in their previous   matchup.
 Jada Porter made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out eight batters over  seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and four unearned) runs off   seven  hits. That's the most  strikeouts  she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with two  runs and one  stolen base.

 In other batting news,  Dayvanee Hill was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. Those  two  hits gave  her a new career-high.  Mailyn Ortiz Cabezas was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with one  home run, two  runs,  and two  RBI.
 Mesa  hit smart and  finished the game with only one  strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dobson struck out eight times.
Mesa's win  ended  a  nine-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 4-10. As for Dobson,  they are  on  a  13-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 4-19.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mesa will take on Skyline at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Dobson, they will challenge Tolleson at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Wolverines will roll in looking for their  fifth straight  victory, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight.
