Riverbend is a perfect 10-0 against Massaponax since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Bears will welcome the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Riverbend has eight straight wins, Massaponax has 12 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Riverbend hadn't beaten Colonial Forge on the road since May 25, 2021 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Bears came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 6-3.

Chloe King made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off nine hits (and only one walk). King was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Ryleigh Livesay was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Isa Barber, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Riverbend was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Massaponax lost 14-4 to Spotsylvania on Monday.

Riverbend's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Massaponax, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.

Everything went Riverbend's way against Massaponax in their previous meeting last Monday, as Riverbend made off with a 14-0 victory. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
