The Springwood Wildcats will take on the Ezekiel Academy Knights at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Springwood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Ezekiel Academy likes a good challenge.
Springwood is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Calvary Christian just ended the team's three-game winning streak two weeks ago. They took a hard 75-58 fall against the Knights. The game marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Loss or not, Springwood got some senior leadership from Clarence Moore and Kori Key. Moore posted 25 points, while Key scored 25 points. Key's big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 21 points.
Meanwhile, Ezekiel Academy came tearing into Monday's matchup with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.2 points), and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 54-42 win over the Eagle.
Springwood better focus on containing Elijah Taylor and Kelson Free as the pair were huge in Ezekiel Academy's win. Taylor had 16 points and five rebounds, while Free put up 13 points in addition to six assists and six boards. Free is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Justice Dakwa, who earned nine points and five boards.
Ezekiel Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive games dating back to last season.
Ezekiel Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Springwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest-scoring teams around. Springwood hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 71.2 points per game. However, it's not like Ezekiel Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 67.2 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can put up more.
Springwood couldn't quite get it done against Ezekiel Academy when the teams last played back in December of 2024 as they fell 83-73. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Taylor, who almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine rebounds. Now that the Wildcats know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
