Louisiana School for the Deaf was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fifth to third in Mason-Dixon Deaf Football (8 Man). Louisiana School for the Deaf vanquished Louisiana School for the Deaf 12-6 earlier in the week.
Louisiana School for the Deaf fell 12-6 to Mississippi School for the Deaf in the closest game of the week.
The Bulldogs' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Keith Brignac threw for 33 yards and Winfred Denson had 33 yards receiving. On the ground Aldarius Trice chipped in 84 yards.
Tennessee School for the Deaf's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Vikings feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ethan Swafford has thrown for 497 yards and one touchdown this season, while Rashard Witherspoon has 22 catches for 310 yards. Witherspoon leads the league in rushing with 630 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Mississippi School for the Deaf takes on second place Tennessee School for the Deaf. Last week, Mississippi School for the Deaf defeated Louisiana School for the Deaf, while Tennessee School for the Deaf topped South Carolina School for the Deaf & Blind.
There should be lots of points scored when Daniel Gough's team and the Vikings face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Bulldogs comes in having scored 98 this season, while Tennessee School for the Deaf has scored 206. Mississippi School for the Deaf scored 12 points last week as it defeated Louisiana School for the Deaf.
