When it comes to explaining why Copper Canyon lost, one person who can't be blamed is Bri'ann Felix. Despite the final result, she scored nine points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Felix is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Dobson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lana Shirley, who scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Ahdiayh Chee, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Copper Canyon has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Dobson, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Copper Canyon and Kofa will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
