The Spencer Rockets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They fell to Gilman 49-45. Spencer has struggled against Gilman recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Spencer saw an underclassman step up: Autumn Davis almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Davis hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Mlsna, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Spencer has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. As for Gilman, their win ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-12.
Spencer will take on Neillsville at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Neillsville will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Spencer surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gilman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Columbus Catholic at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
