Fort Cherry is 2-8 against Chartiers-Houston since May of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Rangers are taking a road trip to take on the Buccaneers at 4:00 p.m. Fort Cherry is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
On Thursday, Fort Cherry was able to grind out a solid victory over McKeesport, taking the game 7-3.

Colton Temple made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Landon Trnavsky was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ben Demascal, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Chartiers-Houston came out on top against Yough on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run third inning. The Buccaneers walked away with an 8-5 win over the Cougars.
The team relied heavily on Aaron Walsh, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run. Chartiers-Houston is undefeated when Walsh posts three or more hits, but 2-4 otherwise. Cale Bitz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs.
Chartiers-Houston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in three consecutive games.
Fort Cherry pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Chartiers-Houston, their record now sits at 6-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Fort Cherry has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Chartiers-Houston struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Fort Cherry came out on top in a nail-biter against Chartiers-Houston in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 7-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rangers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
