The Santa Fe Chiefs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 66-39 loss at the hands of Artesia. Santa Fe was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-22.
Zion Staples was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with nine rebounds and three steals for Artesia. The matchup was Staples' ninth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Isaac Brown, who scored ten points.
Santa Fe bumped their record down to 1-12 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Artesia, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-3.
Santa Fe will head out on the road to face off against Charter Oak at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Artesia is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Poinciana at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th.
