Bridgeport faced Fairmont Senior in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Indians were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Polar Bears. Considering the Indians have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Bridgeport is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Fairmont Senior, their loss ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bridgeport will take on Morgantown at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mohigans have averaged an impressive 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Fairmont Senior, they will face off against North Marion at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Polar Bears have won three straight at home, while the Huskies won four straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
