The Bonnabel Bruins will take on the Benjamin Franklin Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bonnabel has given up an average of 18.1 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Bonnabel managed to slip by East Jefferson the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bruins came up short against the Warriors on Monday, falling 27-7. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Franklin got the win against L.W. Higgins on Tuesday by a conclusive 21-2. That looming 21-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Falcons yet this season.
Mia Mornay was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs but no hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, three runs, and one stolen base. Those triples were her first of the season.
In other batting news, Benjamin Franklin got a massive performance out of Sadie Mehok, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. Mehok is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Josephine Thomson, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.
Benjamin Franklin's win bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Bonnabel, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.
Bonnabel might still be hurting after the 23-7 loss they got from Benjamin Franklin when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Bruins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
