This season hasn't been kind to the Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels, who are still winless after their ninth game. They suffered a rough 74-53 defeat at the hands of Curwensville on Thursday. Moshannon Valley has not had much luck with Curwensville recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Curwensville was led to victory by Davis Fleming and Parker Wood. Fleming scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and five steals, while Wood dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Wood has scored at least 25% of Curwensville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Tkacik, who scored nine points along with 17 rebounds.
Moshannon Valley's defeat was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-9. As for Curwensville, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.
Moshannon Valley won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bald Eagle Area at 7:15 p.m. on January 12th. As for Curwensville, they will head out on the road to face off against Williamsburg at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
