While Central Cambria's victory against Bishop McCort wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Red Devils skirted past the Crushers 9-7. The win was some much needed relief for the Red Devils as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Jeffery Shaffer was a standout: he got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Kirsch, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Penn Cambria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westmont Hilltop.
Drake Talko put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2025. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Caden Gibbons made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Evan Latterner was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Central Cambria's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 2-4. As for Penn Cambria, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
