The Seven Rivers Christian Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Carrollwood Day Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Seven Rivers Christian headed into their last game having not scored more than two runs for seven straight, but Ocala Christian let them put that streak behind them. Seven Rivers Christian blew past Ocala Christian 16-1 on Monday. The Warriors not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 23, 2024.
Natalee Tidwell was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-low in earned runs (zero). She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Madalyn Luider was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alannah Ruiz, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.
Seven Rivers Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .710. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Carrollwood Day had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three back in March. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against Grace Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Carrollwood Day has posted since April 2, 2024.
Addison Prieto made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off two hits. Prieto was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia Fuller, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Maya Fuller was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
Carrollwood Day's record is now 3-5. As for Seven Rivers Christian, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-13.
Everything went Seven Rivers Christian's way against Carrollwood Day when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Seven Rivers Christian made off with a 21-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seven Rivers Christian since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
