Perry Central and Crawford County are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The pair will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
Last Saturday, Perry Central ended up a good deal behind Forest Park and lost 59-44.
Even though Crawford County has not done well against Corydon Central recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Crawford County had just enough and edged Corydon Central out 39-37. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Crawford County as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Crawford County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Blake Seibert led the charge by dropping a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zander Sattler, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Perry Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Crawford County, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-13.
Perry Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Crawford County in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, sneaking past 65-63. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Crawford County's Isaac Nickelson, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
