The Richmond Christian Warriors just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Christchurch School Seahorses at 5:00 p.m. on February 6th. Richmond Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 186 points over their last three games.
On Monday, Richmond Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over the Eagles, taking the game 56-47.
Richmond Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kailah Carter, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Carter has scored at least a third of Richmond Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Morgan Trimble, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five steals.
Meanwhile, Christchurch School unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. The game between them and The Covenant wasn't particularly close, with Christchurch School falling 37-19. While losing is never fun, Christchurch School can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Eagles are ranked 33rd).
Richmond Christian's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.9 points per game. As for Christchurch School, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-9.
Everything came up roses for Richmond Christian against the Seahorses when the teams last played back in January of 2015 as the team secured a 73-22 win. With Richmond Christian ahead 39-8 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
