Florence Christian found their leader in underclassman Emerson Poston, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Poston has scored at least 25% of Florence Christian's points. Karley Hickson was another key contributor, scoring five points along with three steals.
Florence Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Dillon Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
After both having extra time off, Florence Christian and Charleston Collegiate will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 11:00 a.m. on December 27th. Charleston Collegiate is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. Dillon Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Southeastern Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 11, 2024.
