Softball Recap: Central Lafourche Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Central Lafourche came tearing into Tuesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They never let the Plaquemine Green Devils get on the board and left with an 18-0 win. Considering the Trojans have won 15 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Demi Orgeron was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Lilli Dufrene, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4.

Central Lafourche's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Plaquemine, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Central Lafourche will head out to face off against Assumption at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Plaquemine, they will head out on the road to take on White Castle at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
