The Walker Valley Mustangs had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They snuck past Clinton with a 24-20 win on Friday. The victory was nothing new for Walker Valley as they're now sitting on five straight.
Evan Schwarzl continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 271 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.3% of his passes. Walker Valley also got help from Hudson Makuch who showed off his sure hands for 108 receiving yards.
Clinton's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jawan Goins, who rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, and Joshuah Keith who rushed for 80 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. Goins was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.
Walker Valley is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. As for Clinton, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Walker Valley is on the road again on Friday and play against West at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. West is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games. Clinton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
