Sierra hasn't had much luck against Pueblo East recently, but that could start to change on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 6:00 p.m. Sierra has given up an average of 30 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Sierra is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Air Academy last Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Stallions were outmatched by the Kadets and fell 43-6. The Stallions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 22-0.
Sierra's loss came about despite a quality game from Cordae Zamora, who rushed for 124 yards and one score.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pueblo East). They blew past Holy Family 35-14 two weeks ago. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Sierra better keep an eye on Dolphka Lewis. He was instrumental in Pueblo East's win, rushing for 200 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 10.5 yards per carry, and also throwing for 211 yards and one TD while picking up 10.6 yards per attempt. Lewis showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 60 yards. Logan Trujillo was another key rusher, rushing for 106 yards and one score on only 13 carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pueblo East was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 331 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Sierra's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Pueblo East, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-3.
