4A District 10 recap Sept. 26, 2012
East Jefferson was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Belle Chasse 34-6. The Warriors came in at 13 in the state poll after placing at number 75 last week.
Holy Cross moved up to 38 from 105 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A District 10. The Tigers climbed the ranks as a result of a 34-0 win over Archbishop Shaw.
Holy Cross' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. James Tabary threw for 187 yards and Kevin Spears had 83 yards receiving. On the ground Todd Spriggins chipped in 82 yards. Jerry Cook helped Holy Cross' passing attack out by catching three balls for 49 yards.
Holy Cross' offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Tabary has thrown for 591 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Spears has 24 catches for 278 yards. Spriggins leads the league in rushing with 305 yards.
Easton took down Pope John Paul II 36-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
