The biggest upset of the week belonged to Cardinal Hayes, who took down 199th ranked Bishop Ford, 26-14.
The Cardinals moved up to 309 from 373 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Catholic AA-A. Cardinal Hayes climbed the ranks as a result of a 26-14 win over the Falcons.
Xaviah Mattocks put up the best numbers through the air as Bishop Ford fell to CJ O'Neil's team. He finished with a total of 12 completions for 203 yards and two touchdowns. Mattocks' favorite target this week was Rodney Gonzales, who caught four passes for 109 yards.
Ludvig Francis was the best wideout in the league this week as St. John the Baptist beat St. Peter's. Francis racked up three receptions for 121 yards. Ryan McCarthy helped St. John the Baptist's passing attack out by catching one ball for three yards.
Christian Turri was the most productive running back in the league this week. In six carries, he ran for 161 yards as the Cougars topped the Eagles. Ryan McCann also contributed to the rushing game with 102 yards on the ground.
6-foot-1 quarterback BILLY TRIGLIANOS of St. Peter's is the league leader in passing yards this season with 691. He has also thrown six touchdowns. On the ground, Jim Esposito's team's Dante Aiken has rushed for 520 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Gonzales. The Bishop Ford star has 12 catches for 324 yards.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Xavier takes on the Falcons. The Knights' offense has recorded 158 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Bishop Ford has permitted only 46 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Xavier takes on the Falcons. As it stands, Chris Stevens' team is in fourth, while Bishop Ford is in third.
St. Francis Prep extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Knights, 41-35. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Terriers.
