If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Kents Hill School. It's a road trip for them on Friday as they take on Cushing Academy at 6:30 PM. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so their meeting could be a low-scoring affair.
Kents Hill School received a tough blow last Saturday as they fell 6-24 to Pingree. Loss or not, Kents Hill School got some senior leadership from Gordon Beckwith, who picked up 68 yards on the ground and caught passes for 55 yards, and O'shae Hosang, who picked up 46 yards on the ground and caught passes for 73 yards. Hosang has been a consistent playmaker for Kents Hill School as this was the 5th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, if Cushing Academy were riding high off their 34-8 takedown of Hebron Academy two weeks ago, that ride came to an abrupt end. Cushing Academy were dealt a punishing 6-42 defeat at the hands of St. Paul's. Cushing Academy were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 6-35.
With both teams hitting sour notes in their previous games, they will no doubt be looking to produce a better outcome in this one. If Cushing Academy want to win, Cushing Academy will need to focus on stopping Kents Hill School's senior Gordon Beckwith, who picked up 68 yards on the ground and caught passes for 55 yards, and senior O'shae Hosang, who picked up 46 yards on the ground and caught passes for 73 yards. We'll see whether or not they are up to the challenge.
