Fayette County extended the longest winning streak in 3A Region 3 this week by beating Greene County, 37-14. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Tigers.
Northside and Sipsey Valley played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Northside eventually emerging with a 50-46 victory.
Sipsey Valley's dynamic duo of Garret Lewis and Braylan Smith proved tough for the Rams to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Lewis threw for 360 yards and four touchdowns and Smith had 165 yards receiving. Jamerius Leatherwood helped Sipsey Valley's passing attack out by catching five balls for 101 yards.
Kiemondre Turner was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 90 yards on six carries as Greensboro fell to Northside. Cordell Chavers also contributed to the rushing game with 57 yards on the ground.
Lewis has thrown for 1009 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Smith has 16 catches for 425 yards. Lewis also leads the league in rushing with 464 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Gordo takes on Chris Hilliker's team. At the moment, the Green Wave are in third, while the Rams are in second.
The Raiders took down Holt 50-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Quante Brown threw for 260 yards and one touchdown and ran for 12 yards in the win.
