Oviedo got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alex Harper out in front who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. The match was Harper's third in a row with at least ten points. Caleb Pennyfeather was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds and four blocks.
Lyman's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Coleman Miller and Jamarius Joyner. Miller scored eight points, while Joyner scored two points along with eight rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Oviedo and bumps their season record up to 6-1. As for Lyman, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.
Oviedo won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Apopka at 7:00 p.m. on December 9th. Apopka will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 186th, while Oviedo is ranked 13th). Lyman is on the road again on Monday and play against Hagerty at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th. Hagerty has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 279 points over their last four matches.
