It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Claxton Tigers can now relate to. They took a serious blow against Bleckley County on Friday, falling 56-7. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.
Joshua Stanley was his usual excellent self, rushing for 144 yards and four touchdowns on only eight carries. Stanley really tore up the turf during one magnificent 77-yard run. Another player making a difference was Kam'ryn Everett, who rushed for 32 yards and a touchdown.
Claxton bumped their record down to 2-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 3.5 points per game. As for Bleckley County, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Claxton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bleckley County will take on Irwin County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Irwin County will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
