Dora is 0-10 against Elida since April of 2022 but things could change on Monday. The Coyotes will venture away from home to take on the Tigers at 2:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Dora put up the most runs they have all season on Friday. Everything went their way against Jal as they made off with a 25-3 victory. With that win, the Coyotes brought their scoring average up to 10 runs per game.
Isaac Jasso was excellent, getting on base in five of his six plate appearances with three stolen bases, five runs, and three RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Harris, who went 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.
Dora always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .755. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2025.
Meanwhile, Elida entered their tilt with Floyd on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Broncos 47-7. That looming 47-7 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.
Radlee Ferguson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2025. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in all eight of his plate appearances with seven stolen bases, seven runs, and three RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
In other batting news, Coda Cathey was a standout: he got on base in all eight of his plate appearances with six stolen bases, six runs, and one triple. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (six). Another player making a difference was TJ Kennedy, who got on base in all seven of his plate appearances with seven stolen bases, five runs, and four RBI.
The victory got Dora back to even at 2-2. As for Elida, their record now sits at 3-1.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Dora hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .390. However, it's not like Elida struggles in that department as they've averaged .680. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dora suffered a grim 15-5 defeat to Elida in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Coyotes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
