The Newton HomeSchool Panthers will take on the Goessel Bluebirds at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Newton HomeSchool fought the good fight in their overtime match against Liberty HomeSchool Alliance on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 64-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Arrows. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Newton HomeSchool in their matchups with Liberty HomeSchool Alliance: they've now lost three in a row.
The losing side was boosted by Jaquale Schumm, who dropped a double-double on 42 points and 30 rebounds. That was a full 71.2% of Newton HomeSchool's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Goessel was the victim of a rough 70-49 loss at the hands of Solomon last Friday.
Newton HomeSchool has fallen quite a ways from their 12-5 record last season and are now at 2-5. As for Goessel, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
